Sweet Rat Terrier for adoption in Annis, Idaho For Sale

Meet little guy Mojo a 10lb, Rat Terrier mix who is approximately 6 years old. This little man has had the worst of luck with finding a home, when Fuzzy Pawz heard his story we decides that we had to help turn the little man?s life around!
Three years ago a kind woman found Mojo on the side of the road; he was freezing and had bite marks on him; she took him home, tried to find his owners and when no one came forward she started searching for his forever home. At first Mojo thought he?d hit the jackpot with Adopter A but they gave him away to Adopter B after their kids injured him pretty severely. As luck would have it Adopter B was a co-worker of his original foster. Adopter B didn?t like Mojo and said he pottied all over the house and they were done with him. When his original foster saw him he had a terrible ear infection and urine burns on his chest and belly area and hair was shedding off of him in clouds; he had been left to spend about 20 hours a day in a tiny cat crate. Now Mojo is back with his original foster family and Fuzzy Pawz is determined to find him a home where he will be loved and cared for as he should!
The ear infection is gone and good food has given him back a nice shiny coat. He does have some old healed over broken ribs and his hips were a bit curved down from what we believe is from over crating. His hips look a lot better now that he gets some exercise and will continue to get better as his exercise continues. He does pull up one leg when running (probably an ACL issue) but it has been like that for over 3 years and he gets along on it just fine and it is not painful. He is in good health and is a running fool. Mojo loves walks and (being male) must stop at every tree and fire hydrant so you don't have to be a speed walker for this dog.
He is not "yappy" like many small dogs and he is well behaved in the home and in motel rooms when traveling. He even walks well off leash and he listens pretty well. If another dog is near and you tell him to keep walking, he does. He does not run off even if the gate to the yard is left open. He walks around out front then returns when he is done marking the front yard.
Mojo is currently living with birds that sometimes fly away from the cage and Mojo pays no attention to them. Gets along well with most dogs regardless of size but becomes territorial with other males ? so females only. He has no interest in toys yet, and does not know how to play with toys, but another playful little female dog in the household would teach him quick. We are unsure of how he is with cats.
Mojo has a great personality and will make you laugh at his funny antics. This adorable little man is sweet, gentle and cuddly despite having had such a horrible life. He is wary of being picked up but will jump into your lap if you are sitting; after all he has been through this is not surprising. Mojo is such an affectionate little guy and would make an excellent companion for "empty nesters" or partially disabled person. We do require no small children in the home for Mojo he has been traumatized enough by young children that it would be a bad fit ? 15 years old and up only.
Mojo needs to be a part of the family; not locked in a crate, not tossed around and not beaten. If you are looking for a dog to be your little buddy and to share your life and love with, Mojo is your guy. He has a ton of love to give if someone will just give him the same in return.
Mojo is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
